Why is regular exercise important for your dog?

Exercise is one of those words that as "grown ups" we cringe! However, that's not the case for our four legged companions! Studies show that 20-30 percent of dogs seen by veterinarians are overweight. Many of these dogs even obese!

Obesity prevents dogs from enjoying many physical activities; it also decreases speed and stamina and makes it more difficult for dogs to deal with heat. Obesity is also associated with certain medical problems, including arthritic changes in overly burdened joints, increased risk of torn ligaments, back problems, cardiac problems, difficulty breathing, increased surgical risks, skin problems, whelping problems and a possible increase in risk for some cancers.

Hmm... seems to me that we aren't too different at all! We all need to get out and get moving to help us stay healthy! That includes your pup! Help your pets live a LONG, happy, healthy life by giving them the proper exercise!

If you are unable to provide this type of care to your pet,THE COLLAR CLUB PET SITTING COMPANY, is here for you! Just give us a call and request a walk for your pet today!
